OSLO FALAFEL
Written by AMIR BEN DAVID based on his novel.
Producers Michael Sharfshtein Moshe Edery Leon Edery Eran Riklis
A poignant and darkly funny look at Europe today. It all started with a falafel ball...
Prosper Lennon Lombrozo from Tiberias followed the love of his life, Mona Riefdahl, all the
way to her native Oslo. He opened a falafel stand and proudly hung his sign:
“Oslo Falafel -The National Food of Israel.”
The sign infuriates Ali Ghazi, a Palestinian living in Oslo and he demands that Lennon remove it. When Lennon refuses, Ali goes to court and files a lawsuit against Lennon.
What follows is aviolent legal and political whirlwind that engulfs the Norwegian capital and threatens to sweep across Europe. The fight draws Palestinians and Muslims, Norwegian and other European fascists, leftwing activists, Israeli patriots and the usual assortment of profit and trouble seekers. And in the middle of this chaos, Lennon and Mona try to keep their love alive.
